Account from Verstege’s Een beroep op het Nederlandsche volk (1886)

On this date in 1875 the meeting at the residence of the Lieutenant-Governor of Penang between the Dutch agent Lavino and Habib Abdoerrachman el Zahir produced the sultanate negotiation that the Indian government put aside (see Herstel van het sultanaat); on this date in 1874 the sick and wounded at Kota Radja made a seventh of the garrison (see Bezettingskorps in Atjeh).
