Lam No was the place in the Daja country where the Civil Authority W. van Kregten and two soldiers were murdered on 20 May 1914.
The band of twelve men, armed with rentjong and klewang and drawn from the landschappen Lam No, Panté Tjeureumèn, Djeunamprong and Oenga, fled to the mountains with the soldiers’ weapons and was pursued by several brigades. The plan to withdraw had already been formed when the extremely careless night quarters on the keudé at Lam No gave them “a fine chance to make a name and at the same time to provide themselves with weapons.” Tgk. Machmoed van Lam No, a former teungkoe-meunasah at odds with his oelèëbalang over his share of the zakat, was one of the four principal perpetrators.
