On this date in 1881 (after Verstege’s dating; see Establishment of civil government in Aceh (6 April 1881)) the two-headed government was introduced in Atjeh, Van der Heyden handing the civil administration to Pruijs van der Hoeven with the closing warning: ‘Groote voorzichtigheid blijft geboden’.
