On this date in 1874 the Dutch suffered the Lampoe Oek defeat of 9 dead and 86 wounded (of whom ten officers), about 700 paces from their own walls; the same date in the 1874 secret sessions heard Van Lijnden van Sandenburg’s ‘onvergeeflijke fout’ and Godefroi’s and the acclamation’s first speeches (see Stieltjes).
