On this date in 1879 Toekoe Moeda Daoed and Toekoe Tjoet Hadjet swore their submission to generaal van der Heyden, who the same day wrote his letter partly quoted in the pamphlet (‘de krijgsverrichtingen op groote schaal zijn afgeloopen’) — see Van der Heijden’s pacification of Groot-Atjeh; also the closing date of Boumeester’s shot-free inspection.
