Samoedra was historic kingdom on north coast of Atjeh near present Lho Seumawe, with adjacent Pasé, where earlier 6 centuries considerable kingdom existed per Broersma.

History per Broersma

Travelers middle ages been there noted. Still 5-6 centuries earlier Chinese travelers afterwards Arabs traders with Islam. Marco Polo spoke of Sama(d)ra i.e., Samoedra said cannibals but also rice arén palm and coconut used. Fei Hsin saw two centuries later pepper grew and people prepared toewak from nipah palm annually two harvests obtained dry fields! Sultans rode high on elephant went battle against unbelievers. Now kampong Samoedra no old archive present. Here there graves old sultans princes of which in Blang Me most known. Some praalgraven marble used marble tombstone standing at head grave bearing mention names facts Arabic inscriptions. Remote in waterland offers royal rest under high trees sacred place pious land.

In 15th and 16th century Samoedra and Pasé under Atjeh princes subordinate sultan. When Atjeh over time lost power, developed in all regions outside Groot-Atjeh independence princes and heads.
