Linggö was the Dösön valley of the Meergebied, “formerly so turbulent”, the scene of a klewang attack in January 1911 and of the unrest of 1916.
In 1916 a female teungkoe regarded by the population as very holy brought a dozen villagers to withdraw into the mountains, where they joined Penghoeloe Möngkör; their attack on a marching bivouac failed, the band submitted, the population itself laid the Penghoeloe low in September, and the female saint was taken prisoner in the Gajò Loeös.
