Dörötstreek was the district which, with the Meergebied, formed the fourth of the six hearths of the resistance of 1908–1912.

The Dösön valley of Linggö in the Meergebied had formerly been very turbulent. “And when in 1912 the band in the Döröt district also submitted, the situation in the Lake District and the Döröt district could thenceforth be judged as ranging from favourable to very favourable.”
