The Koningin Wilhelmina was one of the three Netherlands warships detailed to take part in the bombardment of Lampisang in 1896 during the operations against Toekoe Oemar.
P. H. R. Beuming records that the navy was also to take part in the bombardment: the warships Koningin Wilhelmina, the Tromp and the Sumbawa, armed respectively with 22, 32 and 6 pieces of 28, 21 and 17 cm, were op het eerste sein, vanuit Oleh-leh en de Kroeng Rababaai, het vuur openen — to open fire at the first signal from Oleh-leh and the Kroeng Raba bay. The Koningin Wilhelmina carried 22 pieces of 28 cm.
The naval guns joined the twenty land pieces of the siege battery at Lamdjamoe in the fire opened on 27 April 1896 on Pakan Badak, Pasar Oleh Gli and Lampisang.
