From Keutjhi’ Bén
Geumpang having become too hot for him, Keutjhi’ Bén withdrew to the Boven Moegò district, where Van Arkel from Tanòh Mirah twice surprised his band, killing his son and five followers and taking five rifles; almost simultaneously another patrol from Tanòh Mirah under sergeant Gackstätter surprised Keutjhi’ Bén himself in Pameu and laid him low with two followers. “And with this the time of “political situation favourable” dawned for Meulaboh as well.” A resistance head Keutjhi’ Bén was also laid low in Pameu by a patrol from Meulaboh in 1911.
From Geumpang
In August 1910 the bivouac commander of Geumpang, onderluitenant A. H. C. Roelofsen, “at last laid low the long-sought and notorious resistance leader in that district, Keudjroeën Leupoe” H. N. A. Swart’s letter to Schmidt of 26 December 1909 named the further quarry there: Keudjroeën Leupoe’s sons T. Adé and T. Ma’E, then Keutjhi’ Bén Bangkèh and Keutjhi’ Linto. The great Keutjhi’ Bén, for whom Geumpang had become too hot, withdrew to the Boven Moegò district and was killed in Pameu in September 1911.
From Tanòh Mirah
Those submitting were helped with rice and seed-padi. From Tanòh Mirah Van Arkel twice surprised the band of Keutjhi’ Bén in the Boven Moegò district in September 1911, and a patrol under sergeant Gackstätter laid Keutjhi’ Bén himself low in Pameu. In May 1911 the bivouacs Arongan, Tanòh Mirah and Reusa’ were abolished in consequence of the favourable political situation in Wòjla and Boebon.
