Panteh-Karang was a Dutch military post on the communication line through the XXII Moekims of Groot-Atjeh. The post was evacuated on 14 January 1885 as part of the concentration strategy.
Location
Panteh-Karang was situated on the communication line extending eastward from Lambaroe, between Senelop and Montasik.
Pre-Concentration Status
Panteh-Karang was one of the posts established during the expeditions of General van der Heyden in 1878–1879. Like other posts on the line, it was part of the chain of isolated positions that characterized Dutch presence.
Evacuation
Panteh-Karang was evacuated on 14 January 1885, the day after the evacuation of the main group of posts. This slight delay may have been for logistical reasons.
Significance
The evacuation of Panteh-Karang was part of the systematic withdrawal from the extended communication line that characterized the concentration strategy.
