Montasik was a Dutch military post in the XXII Moekims of Groot-Atjeh. The post was evacuated on 28 February 1885 as part of the concentration strategy.

Location

Montasik was situated in the XXII Moekims, between Panteh-Karang and Anagaloeng.

Pre-Concentration Status

Montasik was a post that existed before the concentration decision of 1884. It was one of the posts along the extended perimeter that was eventually abandoned.

Evacuation

Montasik was evacuated on 28 February 1885 along with Senelop, Anagaloeng, Boekloe, and Pakan-Badak.

Significance

The evacuation of Montasik was part of the systematic withdrawal from the outer perimeter that characterized the concentration strategy.
