Lamgoet was a benteng in the XXVI Moekims of Groot-Atjeh captured by Toekoe Nja Banta on 4 September 1893 and given into the keeping of Toekoe Tjoet, who arbitrarily evacuated it and thereby played it back into the hands of the Moslemin.

The episode

G. B. Hooijer recorded that de benteng te Lamgoet, op den 4den September door Nja Bantah veroverd en aan hem in bewaring gegeven, had hij eigendunkelijk ontruimd en daardoor weder in handen des vijands gespeeld — the benteng at Lamgoet, captured on 4 September by Nja Bantah and given to him in keeping, he had arbitrarily evacuated and thereby played back into the enemy’s hands. It was the first of the acts by which Toekoe Tjoet renewed Dutch suspicion of him after General‑Major Van Teyn had bought his neutrality with a salary.
