From Meulaboh
In 1910 more than a hundred uitgewekenen reported themselves in March, among them many adherents of Tgk. Poeti’; in April the band of Tgk. Imeum Sradeuë’ was surprised in Wòjla and T. Adam fell on the Beneden Wòjla; in December Tgk. Poeti’ at last submitted with all his teungkoes, panglimas and sixty followers. In May 1911 the bivouacs Arongan, Tanòh Mirah and Reusa’ could be abolished in consequence of the favourable political situation in Wòjla and Boebon.
From Wòjla
In 1908 an official report recorded that in the Wòjla district politics had been “gemodderd”. In 1909 a mobile marechaussée column under Darlang temporarily occupied the mouth of the Wòjla, and the pacification of the Boven Wòjla under Scheurleer from Tanòh Mirah produced the submission of two hundred resistance men. In April 1910 the band of Tgk. Imeum Sradeuë’ was surprised in Wòjla and T. Adam fell on the Beneden Wòjla. By 1918 Wòjla had so flourished that H. J. Schmidt “zelfs hoofden uit andere streken ‘ter instructie’ nu en dan naar Wòjla dirigeerde”: the roads were exceptionally well maintained, the gampongs excelled in order and cleanliness, and tax collection and school attendance left nothing to be desired.
From Beneden Wòjla
After A. Geertsema Beckeringh obtained sufficient means of power in 1909, only the Beneden Wòjla, Boebon and Seunagan remained unquiet in the Meulaboh country. In April 1910 T. Adam fell on the Beneden Wòjla, at the cost of one more rifle to the resistance. In May 1911, in consequence of the favourable political situation in Wòjla and Boebon, the bivouacs Arongan, Tanòh Mirah and Reusa’ were abolished.
