F. Stakman was a Dutch 1st lieutenant of the Netherlands Indies Army who commanded the left flank detachment of the patrol of 7 March 1896 from Anak Galoeng, which was to move parallel to the kampong edge followed by Captain Van Blokland. At the first encounter, when the Acehnese opened fire on the column in the open sawah, Stakman and the adjudant-onderofficier Krüger were wounded, and only with much difficulty and under a hail of lead could they be carried to the benting. Beuming’s casualty roll records his wound as a shot in the arm.
