10th Infantry Battalion was a regular infantry battalion of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army deployed in northern Sumatra during the Aceh War between 1873 and 1876.
Personnel Strength
According to official returns published in Atjeh gedurende de tweede expeditie en later (1876), on 26 December 1875 the battalion consisted of 18 European officers, 212 European soldiers, and 363 indigenous soldiers, totaling 593 men.
Garrison and Defensive Duties
Throughout 1875 and 1876, the 10th Infantry Battalion was assigned primarily to garrison duties around Kraton of Aceh, Penajoeng, and Oleh-leh, guarding supply lines and protecting the Medical Service in Aceh from Acehnese infiltration.
