The Establishment of the post at Biloel took place in the night of 20 May to 21 May 1894 in the IX Moekims of Groot-Atjeh, at the request of Toekoe Nja Mohammad, head of the IX Moekims, who with Toekoe Hoessin Longbattah guided the Dutch column to the site.

The operation

G. B. Hooijer recorded that Biloel werd in den nacht van 20 op 21 Mei 1894, op verzoek van Toekoe Nja Mohammad, hoofd der IX Moekims, opgericht — was erected in the night of 20 to 21 May 1894 at the request of Toekoe Nja Mohammad — and that he and Toekoe Hoessin Longbattah, whose mother lived there, showed the Dutch column the way. The fortification was raised around the old Messigit, whose roof had been burnt and renewed, and within whose white wall the officers’ quarters were established; two field-pieces and a mitrailleur were placed in battery in the two bastions.

The garrison of Boekit Daroe, west of Tjot Goeë, was transferred to Biloel on 20 May 1894, and the road along and over the bare hills of the IX Moekims was constructed on that occasion.
