Register van Bendehoofden was the thick folio register of band-heads kept by the Civil and Military Governor of Atjeh en Onderhoorigheden.
At the first interview between H. N. A. Swart and H. J. Schmidt in June 1908, Swart “seized a thick folio — and on that folio was written Register of Band-Leaders — and he searched and found Keudjroeën Oebit, and asked: “do you mean that one?"" When Schmidt found Keudjroeën Oebit in the Tangsé valley in February 1909, within the three months he had promised, he was able to strike him from the register — “the first piece of work which this long-serving collaborator of Swart’s, his “first tracker,” delivered to the new Governor.”
