Nederlanders over de Zeeën: 350 Jaar geschiedenis van Nederland buitengaats — Dutch Across the Seas: 350 Years of Netherlands Maritime History — is the 1955 second wholly revised edition of the collaborative historical work edited by Dr. H. J. de Graaf, with the cooperation of Prof. G. Gonggrijp, W. R. Menkman and Prof. Jhr Dr P. J. van Winter, published in Utrecht by W. de Haan N.V. (MCMLV). The 1955 edition is the source of the present Aceh Wiki History articles derived from the book.

The seven chapters

The 1955 edition of Nederlanders over de Zeeën comprises seven chapters covering the 350-year history of Dutch maritime enterprise from the late sixteenth century to the Indonesian revolution:

  • The introductory survey of pre-Company Asia (Chapter II.1, pp. 99-100), which situates sixteenth-century Atjeh in the wider context of Muslim-state formation in the archipelago.
