Kroeëng Peutòë was the river of Keureutòë in whose side-stream W. J. Mosselman surprised and killed Tgk. Sjeh di Paja Bakong, Tgk. Mat Saleh and Tjoet Meutia on 25 October 1910.
Mosselman had marched out from Lho’ Soekon on 22 October 1910 and picked up fresh tracks in a side-stream of the Kroeëng Peutòë on the third day. The pursuit ran over waterfalls, boulders and slippery stones; towards four in the afternoon of 25 October he saw smoke above the trees and charged with seven men into a band certainly sixty strong. The corpse of the old blind Teungkoe, defended to the death by two young men, was recognised by the golden weapon, the famous bawar. In March 1911 a patrol under captain Van der Vlerk was attacked in a marching bivouac on the Keureutòë-rivier by old adherents of Tgk. di Barat.
