Boekit Roembia was the hill on the left bank of the Idi-rivier on the east coast of Atjeh whose summit fortification was stormed on 11 June 1890.
The 1st and 2nd companies attacked the enemy’s main fortification on the summit “to the playing of the battalion band”; the 2nd section of the 2nd company under 2e luitenant H. N. A. Swart, having the least difficult ground to traverse, was first at the work, and Swart was the first to force his way in at 7.55 a.m., followed by an Ambonese corporal and an Ambonese fusilier. He was wounded a moment later by a shot through the left upper arm from a small fortification on an opposite height.
