Blang Kedjerën — modern Blang Kejeren — is the chief place of the onderafdeeling Gajoe Loeös in the afdeeling Gajo- en Alaslanden. It lies in the south-western part of the Gajo country, and Broersma considered that it would in time become the centre of administration of the afdeeling. A captain with twelve brigades (to be reduced to nine, of which three at Kota Tjane) lay at Blang Kedjerën at the time of Broersma’s visit. The road-plan for the afdeeling foresees a road from Takengon in south-western direction over a distance of about 20 km; thereafter a path leads through the Intem-Intem mountains, which must now be maintained and examined to see whether it can be developed into a road. The estimated distance is 130 km; on both sides of the mountains there is a strip of some 30 km that is uninhabited.
