Altenklingen plantation was a sugar plantation in the interior of Acheh that was visited by Dutch forces during the December 19–25 expedition. The Dutch ships “Zeven Provinciën” and “St Eustatius” anchored nearby, and the plantation was found largely intact, though later reports indicated that rebels had set fire to nearby plantations such as Landdsroon and Beresteyn.
Role in the Campaign
Altenklingen served as a temporary post for Dutch troops after they cleared the surrounding area of rebel activity. Its location near the Cimbia creek made it a strategic waypoint for riverine movements.
