Toekoe Moesa Anaq Batee was an Achehnese leader hostile to the Netherlands who in 1896 attacked the passer-goers travelling between Lambarih and Anagaloeng in Groot-Atjeh and penetrated into the IX Moekims, one of the signs by which G. B. Hooijer marked the collapse of Dutch security in the eastern outposts.
Attacks of 1896
Hooijer recorded that after the hope of continued support from Toekoe Moeda Soleiman, guardian of the young Panglima Polim, had proved vain, the population of the southern part of the XXVI Moekims took flight. Toekoe Moesa Anaq Batee then attacked the people going to and from the passer between Lambarih and Anagaloeng and forced his way into the IX Moekims. The Dutch post on Boekit Daroe was continuously fired upon, and everything indicated, in Hooijer’s words, that the Moslemin still needed a lesson.
In response the onmisbare — indispensable — Toekoe Djohan was summoned, and to support him the Dutch erected the temporary fortification of Kroeng Gloempang between Tjot Rang and Anagaloeng, garrisoned with a company of infantry and a detachment of fortress artillery.
