Teungkoe di Tjot Plieëng was a Tirò follower; blood relative of Tjhēh Saman; revered as a saint mentioned in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu in connection with Aceh. In some regions held in even higher esteem than Teungkoe Tirò himself.

Account from Jongejans
In some regions held in even higher esteem than Teungkoe Tirò himself. Revered as a saint; gave countless ‘djimats’ (amulets) bearing his seal, found on many fallen Acehnese. In 1903 an action was launched against him with Darlang, Stoop, Van der Maaten as patrouille-commandanten. Contact occurred several times and many of his followers fell, but Teungkoe di Tjot Plieëng remained at large. Finally an infantry patrol under Lieutenant Terwogt ran into a small band; three were killed, and the seal carried by one proved Teungkoe di Tjot Plieëng was among the fallen (1905).
Significance
Teungkoe di Tjot Plieëng appears in Jongejan’s account as one of the figures shaping the history of Aceh during the period covered by the book.
