Teukoe Agam was the Acehnese formerly head of H. J. Schmidt’s intelligence service at Djeuram, whom Schmidt brought from Meulaboh to conduct the investigation into the resistance in Daja and Lhong in 1914.
Maar die kapitein had van Meulaboh meegebracht den hem dóór en dóór bekenden Teukoe Agam … En met Teukoe Agam begon hij op eigen wijze het onderzoek. The investigation, using knowledge of language, customs and family relations and skilful, confidence-inspiring dealings with the population, uncovered the motive of Nja’ Asém and the intrigue of Teukoe Mamat.
