Mr. Sujono Hadimoto was the Indonesian Minister of Trade and Industry (min. van Handel en Industrie) who, on 16 May 1952, departed from Medan on an inspection tour of the oil enterprises in Atjeh on Sumatra. His delegation included the Minister of Information, Arnold Mononutu; the senior officials of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ir. Darmawan Mangunkusumo and Sunu Sumosastro; and the parliament member Tengku Mohamad Hassan.
Visit to Atjeh
The purpose of the visit was to inspect the oil enterprises on Sumatra, particularly those in the Atjeh region, including the oil fields at Langsa and other locations. The results of this ministerial inspection were not made public. The visit reflected the central government’s ongoing concern with the rehabilitation and utilisation of the oil resources of North Sumatra, which had been damaged during the Japanese occupation and the subsequent revolutionary period.
