Minister Sujono Hadimoto’s oil inspection of Atjeh was a ministerial visit that began on 16 May 1952, when the Indonesian Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Sujono Hadimoto, departed from Medan for Atjeh to inspect the oil enterprises on Sumatra.

The minister was accompanied by:
- Arnold Mononutu, Minister of Information;
- Ir. Darmawan Mangunkusumo, senior official of the Ministry of Trade and Industry;
- Sunu Sumosastro, senior official of the Ministry of Trade and Industry;
- Tengku Mohamad Hassan, parliament member.
Context
The visit reflected the central government’s concern with the rehabilitation and utilisation of the oil resources of North Sumatra, particularly the oil fields at Langsa and other locations in the Atjeh region. The oil installations had been partially destroyed even before the Japanese invasion of 1942 and were found to be completely ruined when a B.P.M. survey party visited in February 1950. The results of the ministerial inspection were not made public.
