Buyskes, Schout-bij-nacht was a senior Dutch naval officer who, together with the corvette Priss Frederik, provided support to the Dutch landing forces on Saparoea during the 17 May 1817 uprising. His involvement is noted in the account of the failed expedition led by Majoor Beetjes (page 92).
Naval Support
Buyskes coordinated the deployment of naval gunfire that helped the Dutch troops hold the fort at Duurstede after the initial landing by Ellinghuyzen.
