De Nieuwe Tijd was the social-democratic review advertised on the closing leaf of Atjeh in de Tweede Kamer (1897) alongside the party organ De Sociaaldemokraat, at a subscription of eighty-seven and a half cents a quarter, published by J. A. Fortuijn of N. Leliestraat 69, Amsterdam.

It appears in the record of the Atjeh question only in this bibliographical capacity, as one of the two periodicals through which the Sociaaldemokratische Arbeiderspartij carried its case against the Atjeh-oorlog beyond the Tweede Kamer to a reading public — the programme Troelstra announced in the debate of 1617 November 1897 when he undertook to rouse the whole country against the war.
