Since 1934, the Gajo Loeös, Alaslanden and Serbödjadi are administratively no longer part of the Gajolanden. The first three became part of the afdeeling Oostkust van Atjeh; the Gajolanden fall under the afdeelingschef of Atjeh’s Noordkust. Practical reason: the Assistent-Resident at Takengon had to drive ~750 km via Langsa, Medan and Kaban Djahé to visit these remote parts of his ressort.
