Assistent-Resident (English: “Assistant Resident (Dutch colonial rank)”) is a term or concept described in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu in relation to Aceh. Colonial administrative rank; the Assistent-Resident at Takengon had to drive ~750 km via Langsa–Medan–Kaban Djahé to visit the remote parts (Gajo Loeös, Alaslanden, Serbödjadi) of his ressort before the 1934 administrative redivision.
