In October 1913 the oelèëbalang’s son, the young Teukoe, walking through the gampong with a few followers, grew thirsty and ordered one of them to climb a coconut palm on an Acehnese’s yard and pick a few coconuts. The owner, angered that no permission had been asked, refused; the young Teukoe grew angry in turn, holding that the picking was the oelèëbalang’s right; the owner threatened him with his parang; the Teukoe held to his order; and the owner brought the parang down on his skull, causing a bleeding head wound. The perpetrator was arrested and brought to Sigli for trial before the Moesapat (“customary-law court”).
From Idi
The attack of 11 June 1890 on the enemy positions on the left bank of the Idi-rivier was the action in which 2e luitenant H. N. A. Swart was first into the summit fortification and was wounded; the column returned to Idi at 4.30 p.m. and occupied the bivouacs. In March 1913 the controleur of Idi and an accompanying official were attacked with a parang and both wounded, one of the Atjeh murders. Idi was among the sub-divisions where a controleur already conducted the administration under the division of 1908.

The affair began when the oelèëbalang’s son, walking through the gampong, ordered a follower to pick coconuts from a tree on another man’s yard and was struck over the skull with a parang by the owner. The monthly report closed: “Peace and order in the territory of Titeuë were not disturbed for a moment by what had occurred.”
