korte Atjeh-verklaring (English: “Short Atjeh declaration”) is a term or concept described in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu in relation to Aceh. Three-article contract of 1898 designed by Van Heutsz and Snouck Hurgronje: (1) recognition that the territory is part of Nederlandsch-Indië and loyalty to the Queen of the Netherlands; (2) promise not to enter into political relations with foreign powers, treating Netherlands’ enemies as enemies and friends as friends; (3) promise to comply with and uphold all regulations issued by the Governor of Atjeh and Onderhoorigheden concerning the landschap.
