Simpang-kanan — the Right Branch — is one of the two rivers which together form the Tamiang river in the onderafdeeling Tamiang of the afdeeling Oostkust van Atjeh, the other being the Simpang-kiri. The stroomgebied of the two rivers is the geographic core of Tamiang.
