A village in Pidie which was a centre of religious learning before the Dutch arrival. ‘Such were Langga and Langgo, Langga and Langgo, Sriweue, Simpang, Ie Leubeue (= Ayer Labu).’ Cheh Marahaban studied in Pidie (in Simpang among other places) and later at Mekka. The author of the Hikayat ranto, Leube Isa, lived first in gampong Bambi, later at Klibeuet.
