Lamrong was a Dutch military post in the southern section of the geconcentreerde stelling (concentrated position) in Groot-Atjeh. The post was established on 25 February 1885.

Significance
Lamrong helped complete the southern section of the perimeter, providing additional coverage between Lambaroe and the more southern posts.

Meijer places Lamrong — written also Lēber (Lamrong) in the march orders — as one of the three hostile kampongs (with Lamsajoeng and Lambaroe) from which the enemy by the beginning of March 1876 had established a heavy occupation that cut the communication of Major B. E. Mekern’s column at Kajoe-Lē with its supplies at Longbatah and Mesigit Pagar Ajer. The kampong belongs with Lambaroe to the ground across which ran the road that Pel’s first-line posts travelled in these years, and from which the enemy’s nightly paddy cutting in the occupied zone was protected by sentries pushed forward in scattered order.
Its head Toekoe Lamkeboe of Lamrong had once showed himself inclined to return to his kampong with his people, but in the rising tide of the Habib’s return let it be known clearly that he had given up that intention for good and had joined the Habib — a defection cited by Meijer as characteristic of the effect of the Habib’s appearance on chiefs who had nearly crossed over. Lamrong itself, with the adjoining kampongs, was laid in ashes by the 3rd column of the Biloel Zuid operation on 14 May.

Verstege names Lamrong one of the eighteen posts of the line of 1885: on 9 August 1885 a reconnaissance patrol of six men, close by the benteng of Lamrong, was attacked by the enemy, with six wounded and three rifles lost; and in the night of 27-28 September 1885 the telephone connection between Lamrong and Lampeneroet was destroyed (see Guerilla raids inside the concentration line (1885)).
