Lamngani (also spelled Lamgani) was an Acehnese fortified position (benting) in the XXII Moekims at which future Governor Demmeni, then a lieutenant-colonel commanding a column during General van der Heyden’s offensive in 1879, personally distinguished himself during its storming. Brooshooft cites this action as one of the feats that earned Demmeni promotion and eventually the governorship of Atjeh.
