The Boekit Kasoemba was the height in Groot-Atjeh that marked the inland end of the main position of Toekoe Oemar before the three-day battle in the Beradin pass of 23–25 May 1896.
P. H. R. Beuming records that the enemy’s main position zich van de Boekit Kasoemba tot de kust uitstrekte — extended from the Boekit Kasoemba to the coast — and that against it the Dutch were to operate with several columns, in order at once to command a broad strip of terrain and, by a converging movement of the wings coupled with a forward pressure of the centre, to drive the enemy in a south-westerly direction.
On the first day of the battle the Dutch artillery brought a fortification lying on the Boekit Kasoemba under fire while the 6e Bataljon took position south of Ketapan Doea and the column of Overste Van Heutsz began the ascent of the Glé Poetih.
