Aloeë Garöt was the aloeë at which Behrens fell upon Tgk. di Mata Ië in 1913 so suddenly that the Teungkoe’s turban and rosary remained caught in the bushes.
In 1913 viel Behrens hem, bij de aloeë (“brook”) Garöt, so swiftly upon him that his turban and rosary remained caught in the bushes, like Absalom’s hair; he was wounded in the leg in this encounter. So his invulnerability had apparently come to an end; nevertheless he maintained himself for four years more. The leg wound made possible the identification of his corpse near Samarkilang on 10 July 1917.
