W. H. Loef was a sergeant and brigade-commandant of the Korps Maréchaussée, knight of the Militaire Willems-Orde 3rd class, whose eereteekens record service in Djambi, Central Sumatra and Atjeh across four campaign periods, and who at the time of the 1930 jubilee was concierge of the Christian Lyceum at Bandoeng.
Service record
Loef was born on 16 February 1881. He departed for the Indies as a soldier on 12 May 1899, and was promoted sergeant on 8 September 1903. He left the army with a pension on 6 November 1916.
As sergeant and brigade-commandant of Maréchaussée he received on 23 February 1917 the knight’s cross of the Militaire Willems-Orde 3rd class.
Campaign decorations
Loef was further decorated with the eereteeken voor belangrijke krijgsbedrijven for: Djambi 1901–1904; Central Sumatra 1903–1907; Atjeh 1906–1910; and Atjeh 1911–1914.
Later life
At the time of the 1930 jubilee number he was concierge at the Christelijk Lyceum at Bandoeng.
