Teuku Nya Abas (historically written Toekoe Nja Abas) was an Acehnese nobleman, hulubalang of the XX Moekims, and son of Teuku Nek of Meuraxa during the Aceh War.
Submission in 1874
In January 1874, following the defection of his father Teuku Nek of Meuraxa during the Second Aceh Expedition, Teuku Nya Abas and his brother-in-law Teuku Nya Mohamadad visited Dutch headquarters in Kraton of Aceh to formally make their submission to General J. van Swieten.
Their appearance on 2 February 1874 was documented in official reports and cited in the General van Swieten War Telegrams as proof that coastal nobility in the XX Moekims were aligning with colonial authorities.
