Teuku Nek Purba (historically written Toekoe Nek Poerba) was a prominent Acehnese chieftain and hulubalang from the XX Moekims in the Aceh Sultanate.
Diplomatic Overtures in 1874
Following the Capture of the Aceh Kraton on 24 January 1874 during the Second Aceh Expedition, Teuku Nek of Meuraxa informed General J. van Swieten that Teuku Nek Purba, alongside Teuku Nanta Setia, was preparing to submit to the Dutch East Indies Government. This intelligence was recorded in Atjeh gedurende de tweede expeditie en later (1876) as part of the documentary record justifying Dutch dispatches in early 1874.
