Teuku Imam Lueng Batoh (historically written Toekoe Iman Longbattah or Toekoe Iman Loong of the XXV Moekims) was a celebrated Acehnese military commander and hulubalang, universally recognized in contemporary Dutch colonial literature as one of the bravest and most formidable warriors of the Aceh Sultanate.
Command in the XXV Moekims
During the Second Aceh Expedition in 1873 and 1874, Teuku Imam Lueng Batoh, supported by his principal lieutenant Panglima Mah Saleh, commanded resistance forces in the XXV Moekims, defending fortified redoubts at Lemboe and Longbattah near Kraton of Aceh.
In early February 1874, unconfirmed reports reached Dutch headquarters that Teuku Imam Lueng Batoh had been killed in action, rumors that were temporarily cited in the General van Swieten War Telegrams of 2 February 1874 before it became clear that his followers remained unconquered.
