Radja Boerhan Oedin was an informant whose reports on Acehnese preparations were used by Jan van Swieten before the Second Dutch Expedition to Aceh.
Role in the campaign
He reported a determined wartime mood in the Kraton of Aceh, described coastal works and river defences, and estimated that the Sultan expected about 60,000 defenders. He judged that capture of the Kraton would end the conflict; the subsequent war showed that this prediction was mistaken.
