The most powerful uleebalang of Pidie in the Hikayat Pochut Muhamat, predecessor of the chiefs who bear the title Bentara Keumangan, deeply loyal to Poteu Jeumaloy for having taken his blood-guilt upon himself. Pochut Muhamat’s persistence and generous gifts eventually won him over; he bound himself by the “bullet oath,” proved an indispensable ally in the campaign against Jeumaloy, and died as he was carried home after being struck senseless by a falling branch during a confrontation with Jeumaloy.
