Koesen Tjokrosentono was an Indonesian civil servant who served as the acting head of the Information Service (wnd. hoofd der voorlichting) in Atjeh during the early 1950s, before being promoted in March 1950 to head of General Affairs (hoofd Alg. Zaken) of the Provisional Service (Voorl. dienst) of North Sumatra (Nd.-Sumatra).
Career
Koesen Tjokrosentono’s career illustrates the administrative reorganisation that followed the dissolution of the Negara Sumatera Timur (N.S.T.) on 15 August 1950 and the formation of the autonomous province of North Sumatra, which encompassed the pre-war residencies of Atjeh, Tapanuli, and East Sumatra. His transfer from the Atjeh information service to the provincial-level General Affairs department in Medan reflected the centralisation of administrative functions in the new provincial structure.
His appointment was made by the governor of North Sumatra (gouv. v. Nd.-Sumatra) by decision of 7 March 1950. In the same month, Jusuf Abdullah Puar, a senior official (hoofdambtenaar) at the Provisional Service, was appointed head of the Publicity Department (afd. Publiciteit) of North Sumatra.
