Gouffarie was another former rebel who, like Accara, entered the service of Colonel De Salve under a conditional volmacht. He was tasked with entering the forested zones, capturing escaped Negers, and delivering them to the Dutch command.

Gouffarie’s collaboration helped the Dutch authorities to reduce the number of active insurgents without resorting to large‑scale massacres.
