Swart was at once informed by telephone and travelled to Sigli by special tram with the well-known surgeon dr. Dubinsky. But surgical intervention could no longer help. Scheepens died on 17 October 1913.
From Pidië
On 10 October 1913 the Civil Authority of Pidië, overste W. B. J. A. Scheepens, was stabbed at Sigli during a sitting of the Landschapsgerecht by the oelèëbalang of the II Moekims Titeuë, T. Béntara Titeuë; he died on 17 October. Swart travelled to Sigli by special tram with the surgeon Dubinsky, but surgical intervention could no longer help.
From Sigli
On 10 October 1913 Scheepens, presiding over the Moesapat at Sigli in his capacity as Civil Authority, was stabbed in the belly by the oelèëbalang T. Béntara Titeuë and died on 17 October. Swart travelled to Sigli by special tram with the surgeon dr. Dubinsky; the officier van gezondheid at Sigli had given first aid, but surgical intervention could no longer help.
