From Alaslanden
Van Daalen crossed the passes of the Barisan ranges with two hundred marechaussées carrying six days’ provisions and operated almost independently for five and a half months. Under the division of 1908 the Alaslanden formed part of the afdeeling Bambél; in 1910 they became an independent afdeeling under an officer-gezaghebber. In December 1914 two young Alassers forced their way into the Moesapat hall at Koeta Tjanè and wounded controleur Christan. Darlang operated successfully in the Alaslanden in 1911. In 1936 the Alaslanden were one of the last four sub-divisions still governed by officers.
From Bambél
Under the administrative division of 1908 Bambél was one of the five afdeelingen, each under an Assistant Resident. “In 1910 the division of Bambél was abolished; Singkel was joined to the West Coast, while the Gajò Loeös and the Alas lands became independent divisions, each under an officer serving as district authority.” In December 1914, after two young Alassers wounded controleur Christan at Koeta Tjanè, the investigation pointed towards the acting Kedjoerön of Bambél; the arrest of the presumed instigator prompted an attack on the bivouac guard in March 1915, but the investigation finally showed the Kedjoerön entirely innocent.

Koeta Tjanè was the administrative point of the Alaslanden where two young Alassers forced their way into the Moesapat hall in December 1914 and wounded controleur Christan.
